本ブログではインバウンド（訪日外国人）ビジネスだけでなく企業接待や留学生対応等で英語説明が必要ながら多忙で情報収集に中々時間をかけられない方々の為にすぐに使える情報をわかりやすく解説しています。
今回は商談で北陸の金沢市に訪日中の重要顧客と市内移動中のタクシーの窓からチラッと見えた、ひとだかりで賑わう「21世紀美術館」について一体何かを聞かれ、その僅かの間に、できるだけ腑に落ちる回答をしたいシチュエーションです。
一般的に多くの訪日外国人は『食べ物』『アート』『建築』『ファッション』『日本人』に高い関心があると言われますので、それらの視点に立って、より口頭で短く、わかりやすくお伝えして、ぜひ体験してみたい（行ってみたい）と思わせたいですよね。
1. この一言で腑に落ちる？

《日本語例》
- プロのアーティストの斬新な展示エリアと地域コミュニティの憩いのエリアが混在した丸い弁当箱のような博物館です。
- サムライ時代の庭と城の隣に大きな円形のUFOが着陸したようで、しかもどれが正門も裏門わからないのです。
- 博物館自体が円形ガラス張りの大きな展示物で、その中には服を着たまま入れるプールや空だけを展示する部屋もあります。
《英訳例》
- The museum is like a round lunch box with a mix of innovative exhibition areas for professional artists and relaxation areas for the local community.
- It seems that a large circular UFO landed next to the Samurai Age garden and castle, and people don’t even know which is the main or back gate.
- The museum itself is a large circular glass exhibit that includes a swimming pool that can be entered with clothes on and a room that displays only the sky.

- 誰でも気楽に入れる公園の様な美術館の基本コンセプトから地上2階、地下2階建ての威圧感を与えない構造となりました。
- 円形の全面ガラス張り構造により、360度の全方位から、外側と内側の両方から全て見通せることで、開放的な美術館のイメージを実現しました。
- 円形の壁面に均等に4カ所の出入口を配置することで正門も裏門もなく分断された感じを排除しています。

- でも完成して多くの観光客が来るようになると、それまでのネガティブな評価は一変しました。
- パリのエッフェル塔と同じようなエピソードですが、一つ違うのは効率重視の日本人ですね。
- 維持費は高い鉄塔ほどはかからないし、何と言っても入場料はただなので。
- During the planning stages of the modern museum, there was opposition from local residents who thought it was out of place in traditional Kanazawa with its samurai-era atmosphere.
